Self-Assessment: An Interactive Tool for Evaluating ADHD Symptoms in Children
Welcome to our interactive self-assessment tool designed to help you evaluate potential ADHD symptoms in your child. This tool is not a diagnostic instrument but rather a guide to help you understand and observe common behaviours associated with ADHD. If you suspect that your child might have ADHD, please consult a healthcare professional for a formal evaluation but start acting immediately.
When evaluating ADHD symptoms in your child, consider these key factors:
1. Gender differences
- Boys: Often exhibit hyperactivity and impulsivity.
- Girls: May display inattention more subtly, often being perceived as daydreaming or shy.
2. Multiple settings
- Symptoms must occur in more than one setting (e.g., home, school) to consider an ADHD diagnosis. Look for patterns of behaviour across different environments.
Instructions:
- Answer the questions based on your child's behaviour over the past six months.
- Be as accurate and honest as possible to get a clear picture of your child's behaviour.
